The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the peninsula of Crimea was confirmed on 21 March 2020. By the autumn of 2021 in November, Crimea had recorded an official count of 97,496 confirmed cases and 3,010 deaths. After a significant increase in numbers by 3 August 2023, there were a reported 217,695 confirmed cases and 5,431 deaths.
